Lost Youth
Today one of my old, old friends turns 26. In about 2 months from now, I will turn 27. It just struck me how can I be nearing my 30s so damn soon? I didn't study 2 extra years of primary school. I went to express stream. I did not have to repeat my A levels. And I most certainly did not do an extra honours year. =p
The answer lies in the wretched Snapore Umed Fources. Were it not for the 2 year and 4 month stint, I would still be only 24 right now. I could have had a fun, commitment-less relationship during that 2-year period. I would have made more than $400 a month. I could have travelled to more places, seen more and done more.
I most definitely would not have ended up being blacklisted with M1 and SingTel or suffered the trauma of being hounded by loansharks due to the armie misplacing my identity card. I most definitely do not enjoy getting a green sticker every year and cancelling my plans every now and then.
