Service No Enough
Despite our best efforts, wayang will be wayang and the brutal truth is out: Singapore's ranking in the world for service standards has fallen from 17 to 26.
Why? Can anyone exprain why with or without the aid of a CCTV cambrea?
Surely we have not been trying hard enough! 90% of drops in service standards can be prevented, so long as we remain more service-oriented!
No problem! We can conduct a survey liaos! Maybe "4 million smiles" is not good enough! Next time we will aim higher - "4 million grins"! Perhaps we need to flag ~ er, I mean, launch the GEMS campaign earlier so that people can notice in time! Bring in more mystery shoppers!
Looking from another perspective, if positive means prove ineffective, maybe we ought to consider other alternatives. Might as well "zeng" the Penal Code to enable prosecution of those who fail to say "Thank you" or "You are welcome" after a transaction/verbal exchange.
Must also think outside the box these days! "Do it with a smile and be eligible for tax relief!"
Actually, the solution is very simple - just give Singaporeans a reason to smile, instead of this highly stressed climate. Then we will really be able to treat one another with sincerity and graciousness. Dun say I never tell you hor!
